Welcome to my blog! My blog content is a mixture of things. I mainly talk about beauty, but I do a few random posts about my life. In the near future I shall also upload a few recipes as I am a huge foodie!

Hey everyone! Today’s post is going to be a haul of a couple of things I’ve bought over the last couple of months. It’s a mixture of both skincare items and make up bits, some of which left a dent in my bank balance but are SO worth it!

The first bits are from Escentual.com, from about a month ago when they had a 25% discount on everything on the website.

Despite the weather being warmer, my skin was feeling really dehydrated and the moisturisers I had were not doing the job (I have normal skin that’s sometimes gets really dry, if you wanted to know). So, I was on the lookout for a good moisturiser and came across Embryolisse: Lait-Crème Concentre – A nourishing moisturiser for all skin types. I’d heard of this before after it was raved about in the beauty world and picked up a 30ml size to try it out. I’ve tried it out a couple of times and it does moisturise however, it is much heavier on the skin in comparison to my next product.

I look at the Bioderma range on the website (such a good selection!) and after having enjoyed using the Bioderma Sensibo Micelle solution, I browsed through their different ranges. I looked through the ‘Hydrabio’ (blue) range which was for dehydrated and sensitive skin and thought that was ideal for what I needed. I picked up the Bioderma Hydrabio Light – Moisturising Cream40ml.

This moisturiser is much lighter and I feel like it really does the job. After only using it for roughly a week, my skin is back to normal! Can I also just mention the packaging? It comes in a sleek bottle with a pump which dispenses the perfect amount of product and is perfect for travelling.

Escentual.com also stock high end brands and I wanted to take the opportunity of the discount so, I wanted to try the Clarins InstantLight Natural Lip Perfector in the shade 06 Rosewood Shimmer. This is another product I’ve heard a LOT about and wanted to see what the fuss was about. Since I have pigmented lips, this shade only provides a slight tint and not much colour. It is very glossy but not sticky at all and is hydrating but to be honest, it hasn’t impressed me! After about an hour, the shine and colour are not that evident and it is basically a lip gloss that costs a bomb. I’m happy with it but not something that I’d repurchase.

As it is coming into the summer months I needed some sort of SPF protection for my face. After looking online, I opted to buy the Kiehls Ultra-LightDaily UV Defense SPF 50. The reviews online showed that people really liked it and I agree! Sunscreens can usually leave a white/greyish cast over my tanned skin and I look diseased but this SPF is perfect. It’s light, oil-free and doesn’t dry the skin out. It also provides a really good base for any foundation or bb cream.
I also wanted the option of a BB cream as a lighter option for summer. Unfortunately, I’ve found that the BB creams in the market just don’t have a shade that is remotely suitable for people with slightly tanned skin and I knew I would probably have to look into higher end make up brands. Estee Lauder released their Double Wear All-Day Glow BB cream and it seemed they had decent shades. I popped into Selfridges, got matched up and left with a sample. The sample lasted me so long and I loved it straight away! The BB cream is so light and moisturising and has a slight glow to it. It also lasted really well on my skin throughout the day. I was happy and went on to order it online. Again, Estee Lauder’s packaging is so beautiful.

And finally, I spotted the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette back on the Space NK website and after resisting for two whole days, yes two! After much thought, I succumbed and ordered it (they had free delivery going on too). Space NK’s ordering process was very quick, along with their very helpful tracking system.
The palette is beautiful *heart-eyed emoji* and sleek. I was worried that the powders would not show up on my skin, but they do. The powders are so finely milled and not cakey at all. The palette comes with three shades: Dim light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light.

The packaging is gorgeous with a sleek style and the palette also houses a decent sized mirror. One thing I would say is that, for the price, I expected the packaging to be more... fancy. The design is nice but it's made of a strong plastic which lets it down.

Well that's it for today! Have you tried any of the products? Or even better, anything taken your fancy?
Have a nice day!
