One of my most popular blog posts was on a tub of Coconut Oil purchased from Superdrug.
Recently, I purchased another jar of coconut oil - but from Neil's Yard.
The difference between the two brands?
I feel as though they are a WORLD apart.
Let me start of with the texture (I really feel like doing a table of comparisons here) -
The Superdrug's version - was quite hard, had to be really worked between the fingers to soften.
Neil's Yard version - it literally melts in contact with body heat.
Smell -
Oh I love the scent of both. But the Superdrug version seriously has a stronger, more artificial scent.
Neil's Yard - it smells absolutely coco-nutty. I feel like I can literally just grab a spoon and taste coconuts (it won't work like that). It just smells scrumptious.
The other differences include that the Neil's Yard Version is:
- 100% organic and raw
- 100% virgin
- Vegan
- Non GM
- No bleaching
- No Additives
- Unrefined
One of the main reasons I purchased this was actually to use as a cleanser. My Emma Hardie Cleansing has nearly come to an end, I think I have 2 days of use left, and I really wanted something more budget friendly. I think this is absolutely brilliant! Works just as well as the Emma Hardie - gets all the makeup off, skin is left feeling soft, supple and absolutely wonderful.
Also, when I went to purchase this - the lady gave me a whole load of samples and packaged it really nicely. It was a lovely experience.
It retails for £9, and can be purchased at any Neil's Yard Stores/on their website.
