Welcome to my blog! My blog content is a mixture of things. I mainly talk about beauty, but I do a few random posts about my life. In the near future I shall also upload a few recipes as I am a huge foodie!

My previous two 'LovingToday' posts have been based on my favourite concealers. Today, I will opt for another area in the Beauty World: Hair Care. I've never coloured my hair and have looked after it since my hair started falling out (2 years ago). When my hair started falling out, I went a bit crazy on trying out different shampoos and conditioners. That made my hair really dry. To get some moisture back into my hair, I turned to an old family favourite - coconut oil. It seriously was (and still is) my saviour.

I love this stuff. It's completely natural, so there are no additional chemicals such as parabens and silicon that simply give the illusion of better hair (and that is only for short term). When my hair feels a bit dry and my scalp feels a bit itchy, I grab a bit of the coconut oil, rub it between my fingers until it melts and apply to my dry scalp and the ends of my hair. I massage it in for about 5 minutes, and then cover with a towel/shower-cap for around 2 hours (or overnight, when really dry) and then wash it out in the shower. It honestly makes your hair both softer and shinier.

I prefer coconut oil to other oils (when applying on hair)because it's much more lighter and really doesn't weigh your hair down upon one application.  Coconut oil also has several other uses. I use it on my cuticles, just to soften them and strengthen my nails. I also use it on dry patches of skin, it really does help get rid of it. You can use it as a foot mask, by applying it on your feet and leaving it on overnight.

Coconut Oil is available in most South-Asian Shops, as well as Superdrugs. However, I've noticed that the one I've bought recently (from Superdrug) has a noticeably sweeter scent. I personally love the smell, but some may not. This is due to an ingredient named Coumarin. If you do not like that sweet coconut smell, you should try buying one that does not contain Coumarin.

I bought a 125ml tub of Coconut Oil from Superdrugs for £1.50 - bargain.
