Monday to Saturday is usually virtually impossible, and on Sundays we sometimes can grab an hour together during grocery shopping (that's including my baby sister) - but today, the kids stood their ground and said 'no, we want to go out together' and my parents agreed!
We ended up going somewhere within a three-mile radius - Gallions Reach Shopping Park in Beckton, London.
My mum wanted to buy my dad a pair of trousers and new shoes because it's their 23 year anniversary tomorrow. She said she didn't want to make it a big deal because 'when you're married for that long, these types of celebrations just slip by'. (Despite all that, we have yummy celebratory tandoori chicken cooked, and some pilau rice mix ready to be cooked tomorrow, lol).
My mum was also lovely enough to buy me a few bits too! We popped into T.K. Maxx for some home ware bits (whilst I steered towards the beauty section, nothing caught my attention today), and ended up buying two scarves.
They both have polka dots, one green and white, and the other - peach with complimentary coloured polka dots (I'll insert pictures towards the end of the post). They were both really pretty and perfect for spring/summer!
I also ended up getting a coat from New Look. Again, it was green and one I've had my eye on for a while. I absolutely love it.
The clothing store 'Next' was where I got my most favorite purchase out of today - shoes. I have been battling with myself to find shoes that I liked. I have a few spinal problems which have resulted in my Doctor giving me a firm 'no' when it came to wearing heels. I've been advised to wear soft soled, back supporting shoes (granny shoes, as my gran actually calls them). I saw a pair of suede wedges in new look. They look practically identical to the pair I bought from next, except they had a patent type heel and were far more uncomfortable. Plus, I couldn't find my size in any store.
I ended up getting them from Next and they were perfect. They have a slight heel - nothing crazy, and pain inducing. They're suede and have a leather interior. They're so plain, yet practical enough to wear with everything. I absolutely love-love-love.
The scarves, shoes, and trousers from H&M which will be returned! |
Khaki Coloured Coat! |
Another picture of the shoes (I have pretty small feet, hence the 3.5 size!). |
The tassles of the green scarf, they're pretty! |
Mum trying on my coat. To be fair she did buy it. Please ignore everything else, it's basically the 'in-house' shoes, a hoover pipe and my baby sister's new clothes. |
Anyways, hope you had a fab day!
