Recently, I've been watching a Korean Drama called 'My love from the star'.
I absolutely LOVE this drama. It's all about an Alien (kicks E.T. into the water, because he is such a badass) who's lived on earth for absolutely ages because he's been left behind by his fellow Aliens. At the beginning of the drama we find out he has 3 months till they take him home.
Usually in K-Pop dramas, the female leads are really annoying. They're just so clingy to the guys and always are so weak and feeble.
Not in this one.
The main character, Cheon Song Yi (actor Gianna Jun) is awesome. She's her own woman, and she's not afraid to laugh at herself. Also, her make-up is pretty darn good.
She usually goes for a bright lip and has flawless skin - that's not caked. I guess she has amazing skin anyway, but I just love her makeup.
Thereafter, put a light layer of 'invisible' foundation. Something with a bit more coverage than a BB cream, but similar in texture and in the way that it will simply melt into your skin, making your skin still look like skin but more evened out in tone and texture. I think Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua fits the bill here.
The brows shouldn't be too strong, but it should be full. To achieve the right level of fullness, just take an eye-shadow powder and angled brush and with feathery strokes just fill in the brows. Remember, don't get the arch too high. It will make your features a lot more harsher, and with this look - it's all about the lips.
For the cheeks, keep it really subtle. If you're going for orange lips - opt for a muted coral blush (Bobbi Brown Apricot - with a light hand/Topshop's Head Over Heels cream blush). If a bright fuschia pink is your choice, then either skip the blush or wear a very natural looking blush - maybe MAC's Harmony Blush?
For the lips, the product I associated straight away with this look was Apocolyptic by Rimmel. It's a shade in their Lip Lacquer range. It's very pigmented, but can be blotted down to a tint. I think it's perfect!
I think to finish off, just dust a tiny bit of bronzer around the temples and jaw line. Set the foundation with a translucent powder.
That's my take on the look!
