Looking after your skin means that you'll have the best base for your makeup. Let's say - you have dry, flaky skin. If you apply foundation to dry flaky skin, it won't look nice. The foundation will separate on your face and it will stick to the flaky skin. THAT is not a pretty site.
I have dry - combo skin. Dry skin everywhere except my t-zone, which is moderately oily. The products listed below are those that I've carefully chosen to cater to my skin-type:
1. Borghese Fango Mud Active - Face and Body Clay Mask: £25
This is supposed to get all the gunk out of your face as well as clear blackheads. The price is quite steep, but it is supposed to last ages. I personally won't apply it everywhere, and most certainly not everyday. I'd apply simply on my chin, forehead and nose area - places where I find my face to be most congested and blemish-prone. You can also apply it to your body - which is pretty cool as there's not many clay body masks available on the market.
2. Emma Hardie - Moringa Cleansing balm: £30
I love the smell of moringa, and I love anything that's cleansing. This is another recommendation by skincare hero Caroline Hirons. Despite it having a heft price tag, after researching, I've discovered that this has a life expectancy of around 8 months, with daily use. I've done a bit of maths and have found that this comes to around £4 per month, which is amazing! You use up a foaming face wash per month that's around the same price. So, I think it's a good investment.
3. Origins GinZing - Moisturiser: £23
I've tried this on my skin in store, and it feels so lightweight and lovely on the skin. It also smells amazing. I have pretty dull skin, so this is one of those products that's just meant to make you look awake and refreshed. I've also found it to be very moisturising (I took a sample pot home too). I really want to switch things up from my current moisturiser - I think my skin's too used to it now.
