I joined the gym just before Christmas (after weeks of speculating whether it could deteriorate my health), and I can tell you -right now, I love it!
I've never been one for sports (I avoided P.E. when possible), and so spending a a lot of money per month on something that I'd supposedly hate (and usually avoid) was quite a hard decision to make.
I always have been super self-conscious about the way I looked - mainly because I've always been overweight. To present myself in sporting attire was something I thought I could never do!
Since joining, I've lost 3kg. This is a huge achievement for me! I know it's not much, but it is a start. Also, considering the fact that I was super lazy during the holidays, and probably went gym twice between the 19th and the 1st of January, I think it's well worth being proud of.
I really like just pushing myself to go those extra minutes on the treadmill even though my legs are on fire and every ounce of my body is defying my choice - it just makes me proud that I can do it.
I'm just hoping that I can strive to reach my goal of being physically strong.
