aaaages to get to the point of my post which is - what I'm loving today.
Despite not really breaking out on my face, my complexion has definitely seen better days. For the past couple of weeks, due to health reasons my complexion really took a toll for the worst. It was very dry and dull - pretty zombie-like. Upon getting better, my first stop was Boots, simply because make-up makes me happy >.<.
I wasn't really in need of a new foundation, I was however in need of a new Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer (if you read my blog, or have done so in the past you'll know that it is one of my favourites of all time). I took my concealer to the counter and the lady told me 'Ma'am, we have 3 for 2 across all the cosmetics' and I was like 'Waaah, I need to pick up two more items, see you in 5'.
Long story short, I came across the Bourjois display and noticed that they had released a new foundation. Being fans of their previous foundations (my mum used both versions of the healthy mix, loved them both), I only hoped that this foundation was even better than its predecessors and I picked it up.
This foundation is quite dissimilar to the Healthy Mix versions. It doesn't give you a very dewy finish - it leans more towards a satin finish. The formula (as it's name suggests) is very light, so when applied to the face it, the foundation seems to kind of melt into the skin. I really love that feeling when I know I'm wearing foundation, but I can't really detect its presence on my skin. It is slightly fragranced (it has a Chanel-esque scent - which is no surprise as the companies are closely affiliated).
Moving on, the coverage of the foundation is light, and I find that in two layers can build to a slightly more heavier coverage. I find that this foundation is best applied with fingers or with a brush such as the Real Techniques' Expert Face Brush.
All in all, I think this is a great foundation. It's perfect for Winter as it just covers enough without attracting attention to any dry patches and gives you a slight healthy glow, without looking too glowy (if you get what I mean). It also lasts pretty well throughout the day. The only down side to this is that there isn't much of a shade selection - so far. Also, I think the colours are a tad dark, I mean no.50 (the shade I use, and also the lightest) is a tad more dark than I'd usually go for.
