I saw it a couple of times in store, but was a bit iffy about purchasing it. I wasn't entirely sure if I'd be able to use it, or if it would be able to blend my foundation evenly on to my skin.
The first ever foundation I used with my Miracle Complexion Sponge was the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Cream Ivory. The sponge seriously blended out the foundation so seamlessly it felt like second skin. The sponge itself has three dimensions - one rounded side, one flat edge and one pointed top. It's basically like a pointed egg with a side chopped off...
The different dimensions allow you to apply your foundation all over your face - the pointed side for concealing, or getting around the nose, the rounded side to just blend along your orbital bone (under your eye) and the flat edge to just pat your foundation on to your skin. It's just the most versatile tool for applying foundation that I personally have come across.
The sponge doesn't necessarily have to be sued wet, but it definitely works better if it is. If you are hesitating to buy the Beauty Blender (like I was), I think you should give this a try.
Samantha Chapman has a Makeup Tutorial up on the Real Technique YouTube Channel where she uses this sponge. It is an absolutely great video which teaches you how to use your sponge, and how to make the most out of it. I have it linked down below:
